Leadership

MedVision is led by experienced and proven management that is successfully building the company through innovative growth strategies.  Our team is dedicated to advancing our vision to deliver world-class solutions for increasing revenue to physician groups.

In addition, MedVision is pursuing opportunities to expand its operations and is interested in investing in or acquiring existing companies within  certain pockets of health care. Our management team has the patience and experience required to build companies while maintaining market leading positions.  We have worked extensively and very successfully in health care and tangential services during comparable regulatory environments.

Ken Alston

Ken focuses on advancing our vision to deliver world-class solutions for increasing revenue to physician groups.  Prior to MedVision, Ken was co-founder of Eventide Risk Management and its subsidiaries, Southern California Risk Management and Medical Audit and Management, a nationally-recognized leader within the workers’ compensation and insurance industry.  Under his leadership, the company transitioned from a traditional third party administrator into an integrated end-to-end solution provider focused on medical bill review, claims administration, utilization review, nurse case management, and medical provider networks (WellComp).  During this time, Eventide achieved extraordinary organic growth and was ultimately acquired by Odyssey Investment Partners. The company generates yearly revenue in excess of $175 million and has over 1,000 employees.

Previously, Ken was co-founder and managing director of Eventide Management, a private investment firm, where he focused on the origination, analysis, and structuring of investment opportunities resulting in the acquisition of Southern California Risk Management. Before Eventide, Ken founded an early-market company, which was part of the University of Southern California business incubator, EC2.  The company was acquired by a JP Morgan, George Roberts venture-backed fund.

Ken holds an MA from Columbia University and an MBA from Thunderbird where he was an endowed scholar in entrepreneurship.  He is a periodic lecturer on the subject of entrepreneurship at the University of Southern California.

Sandra S. Hunnicutt

As a founder of MedVision, Sandra Hunnicutt has provided physicians and health care clients with a wide array of services in addressing the many challenges faced by today’s dynamic health care environment. Ms. Hunnicutt has a broad-based perspective, gained from her diverse and extensive background in health care for the past twenty-five years. This background combines her clinical background with her extensive business background in varying roles with a Fortune 200 company. Her approach to medical practices involves sensitivity to physician goals in the areas of patient care, as well as the business and financial aspects of the practice.

Ms. Hunnicutt began in health care in the role of a registered nurse, working for hospitals in Northern and Southern California. She then became a Director of Professional Services for a home health agency in Palm Springs, California. Thereafter, she started a home health agency in Reno, Nevada, completing the rigorous certificate of need and third party licensing and certification process. She spent nine years with Caremark, once a wholly-owned subsidiary of Baxter Healthcare Corporation. With this company, she served two years in sales, and five years as a General Manager in the Irvine, California Branch. During that time sales grew from $275,000 a month to $1.2 million a month in a three-year time frame. Her last two years at Caremark were spent as Director of Operations for the Western Region, successfully reducing costs and improving operating efficiencies for the nine western branches.

While at Caremark, Ms. Hunnicutt achieved numerous awards and honors, attaining the honor of General Manager of the year one year, out of 88 other branches. When she began with Caremark her Branch ranked in the lower 10% of the branches. After a year and a half of becoming a General Manager, her Branch consistently ranked in the top 5% of branches. This ranking was based on sales growth, profits, and collections performance. In her last few years with Caremark, she began working with medical group practices, assisting physicians with the business management of their medical practices as well as assisting them in establishing ambulatory infusion centers.

Ms. Hunnicutt is a member of the national Healthcare Billing and Management Association and served on the Board of Directors for the California Medical Billing Association.
